MEMBERSHIP

Is BBIA our local home builders association (HBA)?

BBIA is the local home of the building industry across all seven counties: Bay, Calhoun, Franklin, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, and Washington. We were chartered in 1973 and took the Bay Building Industries Association name in 2013.

Membership is “3-in-1”: your BBIA dues include membership in the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), so you get local, state and national benefits.

Which counties does BBIA serve?

Seven counties in Northwest Florida:

  • Bay
  • Calhoun
  • Franklin
  • Gulf
  • Holmes
  • Jackson
  • Washington

Our members build and support both residential and commercial construction across all seven.

What kinds of membership are there, and what do they cost?

From the 2026 membership application:

TypeWho it’s forAnnual dues
BuilderRC, CBC, CRC and CGC contractors only$833
AssociateSuppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, architects, engineers, real estate and other professionals who support the industry$833
AffiliateAdditional offices or people added to a main Builder or Associate membership$156.50
Professional Women in BuildingCouncil add-on for BBIA members (open to men and women)$130.50

Builder, Associate and Affiliate dues include FHBA and NAHB membership. Dues aren’t tax-deductible as a charitable contribution but may be deductible as a business expense; the application lists the details.

How do I join?

Apply online on the BBIA membership application. Want to learn more first? Visit Join the BBIA or flip through the BBIA Membership Guide.

What do members get?
  • Monthly Lunch & Learns with regional leaders, for networking and lunch.
  • Advocacy on codes, permitting and local development.
  • A listing in the member directory and referral opportunities.
  • Events that put your company in front of decision-makers.
  • Access to FHBA and NAHB education, discounts and resources.

Members can also join committees like Government Affairs & PAC, Young Professionals, Professional Women in Building and BBIA Commercial. See Committees.

FIND A PRO

How do I find a builder, remodeler or trade professional?

Start at Find a Pro. You can browse BBIA builder members, jump to remodelers, or tap a trade category (plumbing, roofing, electrical, countertops, lenders, insurance and more) to see BBIA associate members in that line of work.

Search tip: use trade names, like “plumbing” instead of “plumber.” In the full directories you can also filter by ZIP code and distance.

How do I check a contractor’s license?

Hire licensed contractors. You can look up any contractor’s Florida license with the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation (DBPR) at myfloridalicense.com. To report unlicensed activity, call the DBPR hotline at (866) 532-1440.

How does my company get listed in Find a Pro?

Find a Pro links to the BBIA member directories, so BBIA members are listed there. Builder or industry partner? Join BBIA to be listed.

INFO HUB & INVOICES

What is the Info Hub, and how do I log in?

The Info Hub is BBIA’s member login. Log in at members.baybia.org (the “Login” button at the top of our site goes there too). Forgot your username or password? Use the “Forgot your Username or Password?” link on the login page.

I don’t have an Info Hub account yet. What do I do?

The login page has a “Don’t have an Account? Create One” link.

EVENTS

What events does BBIA hold?
  • Lunch & Learn: monthly at Capt. Anderson’s Event Center, 5550 N. Lagoon Drive, Panama City Beach, 11:30 AM to 1:15 PM, with a keynote speaker and lunch.
  • Parade of Homes: a showcase of homes across Bay County and along the Emerald Coast. Admission to the 2026 Parade was free. See Parade of Homes.
  • Home Expo: the 2027 Home Expo is January 29–30, 2027, at The Boardwalk Beach Convention Center.
  • Golf tournament, clay shoot, socials and the Christmas banquet, plus committee events like PWB Wine Down Wednesday and BBIA Commercial meetings.

See everything on the events calendar.

How do I register for an event?

Open the event on the events calendar and register from its page. Lunch & Learn dates each have a “Register Here” button on the Lunch & Learn page. Sponsorships for Lunch & Learns are handled the same way.

Do I have to be a member to attend?

It depends on the event. The Parade of Homes is free and open to everyone, and some events (like the golf tournament and the Commercial Halloween party) welcome members’ friends and family. Check each event’s page on the calendar for details.

When does BBIA Commercial meet?

BBIA Commercial meets the first Monday of each month at 11:30 AM. It’s for members who build, design or support commercial projects. Learn more on the BBIA Commercial page.

THE BBIA BUSTLE

What is The BBIA Bustle?

The Bustle is BBIA’s online magazine and yearbook: a look back at what we did each month plus what’s coming up, with events, photo galleries, award winners and industry news. A new issue comes out on the 1st of every month. Read it at bbiabustle.com.

How do I get my company’s news or photos into The Bustle?

Industry Partners get their logo and link in The Bustle (see Industry Partners below).

STORM INFORMATION

Where can I find storm and hurricane information?

Our Storm Information page gathers official links for all seven counties: county emergency management offices and alert sign-ups, evacuation zones and shelters, the National Hurricane Center, NWS Tallahassee, FEMA and the state’s Know Your Zone lookup. It also has a job-site prep checklist for members.

If you are told to evacuate, leave. In an emergency, call 911.

I have storm damage. How do I find help and avoid storm chasers?

Use Find a Pro to find BBIA member contractors (roofing, siding, windows, water damage, dumpsters and more), and verify their license at myfloridalicense.com before you sign or pay.

DBPR says be cautious if someone demands full payment up front, pressures you to act immediately, can’t show a valid Florida license, offers to “handle” your insurance claim, or wants cash only.

The BBIA is here to help, too. Call 850-890-8554 or email stacy@baybia.org and we’ll point you in the right direction.

BBIA PAC

What is the BBIA PAC?

The BBIA Political Action Committee is how we turn advocacy into action. PAC investments support candidates and initiatives that affect housing, development and the future of our industry. Locally, our Government Affairs & PAC Committee tracks issues like impact fees and permitting. At the state level we work through FHBA’s FHB PAC, and nationally through NAHB’s BUILD-PAC.

How do I invest in the PAC?

Choose a level and invest online:

Cornerstone Investor$2,500
Industry Investor Club$1,000
Blueprint Club$500
Framing Advocate$250
Groundbreaker$100

Benefits for each level are on the Government Affairs & PAC page.

Does part of my dues go to a PAC?

Yes, unless you opt out. Per the Builder and Associate membership applications, $27.00 of your FHBA dues and $20.00 of your BBIA dues are allocated to the Florida Home Builders Political Action Committees. That portion isn’t tax-deductible as a business expense. The allocation is optional: if you don’t want it, say so and it stays in FHBA operating funds.

INDUSTRY PARTNERS

What is the Annual Industry Partner Program?

An annual sponsorship that puts your business in front of the Bay building industry, with logo placement on BBIA’s website and at events, recognition in The Bustle and on social media, and event perks. There are three levels:

Platinum Partner$10,000 annually
Gold Partner$7,000 annually
Silver Partner$4,000 annually

See what each level includes on the Annual Industry Partner Program page.

How do I become an Industry Partner?

Email Liz@BayBIA.org, or contact Stacy Roberts at 850-890-8554 or Hello@BayBIA.org. We can also tailor a partnership to your business goals.
