The Bay Building Industries Association (BBIA) is excited to announce the

construction of another stunning Scholarship Home for 2024!

​

Under the expert guidance of Southern Belle Construction, this exceptional home is being brought to life by the dedicated efforts of BBIA members, their vendors, colleagues, and friends. Their tireless commitment includes contributing time, financial support, discounts, and donations, all towards creating a remarkable residence.

​

Designed as a workforce home offering affordability without compromising on quality, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this home will fund scholarships for deserving young individuals in our community, enabling them to pursue higher education at accredited colleges or Haney Technical College.

​

The 2024 BBIA Scholarship Home will proudly lead the way as Stop #1 in the Great American Parade of Homes.

I'm thrilled to share that the Bay Building Industries Association will debut this new scholarship home as entry #1 in the 2024 Great American Parade of Homes, taking place from June 7th to 9th, 2024.

​

In previous years, our endeavors have enabled us to award $148,000 in scholarships to 170 recipients, thanks to the generosity of our members, vendors, and supporters who provide discounts, donations, and labor to complete these homes.

​

Angi Dean of Southern Belle Construction will spearhead the construction of the 2024 Scholarship Home. Welcome home to country coastal living at its finest. This beautiful home will be located at 1835 McKenzie Rd in Southport. It is a one-story, 3-bedroom/2-bath, 1,230 SqFt modern farmhouse with classic cottage design. It boasts a light and airy feel, featuring an open floor plan concept. Unique features include vaulted ceilings with beam details in the kitchen and living areas, a kitchen equipped with trendy matte white café appliances and a custom millwork hood range. The living room showcases a floor-to-ceiling brick fireplace with a traditional hearth and mantel. Additionally, there's a wood-burning fireplace on the back porch, perfect for cozying up while watching a football game and enjoying a bowl of chili. A pole barn out back is perfect for "the man cave" or for parking the boat.  Upon arrival, you'll notice the bay glistening in the distance with the inviting call of the public boat ramp at the end of the street, urging you to embark on a day of fishing with friends or relaxing on Shell Island with family.  The property will also feature a paver patio area with a shade sail, ideal for evening relaxation.
