BUILDING INDUSTRIES ASSOCIATION
in 1973, the Home Builders Association represents the
interests of the building and remodeling industry in
Bay County and the surrounding areas. In 2013 we changed
our name to better represent the association
and it's members. We are known today as the Bay Building
Industries Association, or BBIA for short.
The BBIA is comprised of many hardworking, local corporate
members representing the construction industry. We empower
our members through networking, information, political
action and various services while promoting an environment
that supports the construction industry and the concepts
of home ownership for all desiring to be a part of the

our regular Lunch & Learn Membership Meeting
on August 16th, BBIA President, Garrett Anderson,
presented a check in the amount of $2500 to The
Rutherford High School Construction Academy. Accepting
on behalf of RHS was Principal, Coy Pilson.
Special Guests, Bay County School Superintendent,
Bill Husfelt and Haney Technical Assistant Director,
Alexandra Murphy, Panama City Port Authority Executive
Director & CEO, Wayne Stubbs, and BBIA members
were in attendance for the presentation.

is pleased to announce that at our July 19th Lunch
& Learn meeting we awarded $4000 in scholarships
to eight local students to further their education.
This year's recipients are Emma Christensen, Mitchell
Christensen, Brittney Davis, Ashley Holley, Daniel
LaMere, Brynn Ledman, Timothy Bowen McGuffin and Carter
Each student received $500.
In addition, BBIA has an endowed scholarship at Gulf
Coast State College and has awarded many scholarships
to students throughout the years.
Recipients for the 2016 fall semester are Landon Holloway,
Antonio Reeves and Jeffrey Williams.
